merry pugmas

I’ve been out of touch lately…I’ve missed you! Mom has been very busy (and she needs to do the typing for me – I haven’t learned to type yet – although I do very much enjoy walking all over the keyboard!). She got an email from Banana Republic with the photo:

cutie under the mistletoe

isn’t he handsome? i think he’s very cute! a perfect way to wish you all a very merry christmas and all good things (lots of liver treats, elk antlers, carrots, cucumbers and faux bacon) for 2012! xoxox

My Dad took me to a “casting call” today…there were SO many dogs there. They were mostly all QUITE mis-behaved!! I didn’t really enjoy myself but I CERTAINLY was better behaved than those “OTHER” dogs!!

When we got home I heard my Dad tell my Mom that I looked a bit thick around the neck in the photos…do I have a fat neck? Eeek..! I feel so self-conscious now!$%!”@!

I knew that we pugs shed a lot…but I didn’t know we shed A LOT!!! My mom has a lot of black clothes, and a whole rail in the closet full of LBDs (little black dresses), but I’ve come to realize virtually all of her clothes are black, or at least dark enough to show EVERY LITTLE STRAND of my pug fur.
In a favorite comic strip they joke that pugs shed twice their body weight in fur every day…it’s really not that far off…

Here’s a photo after mom brushed me last night:

teeny lulu puppy taking her first tentative steps into her new home…

you want me to go where???

Miss Lulu was not a fan of our slippery hardwood stairs for QUITE some time. She mastered going up for a few weeks before she could go down again. In her efforts to want to follow us everywhere, if we went downstairs into the basement, she’d run up the stairs and then be confused why we weren’t there. Apparently the stairs had some interesting Escher-like connectivity in her head…

Hello world!

Hello world!

It occurred to me the other day {the day that Lulu was 6 months + 6 days old} that in the 3.5 months since we’ve had her, she’s completely {COMPLETELY!!} overtaken my life. I knew I would love her but I didn’t know I’d be head over heels for this adorable little demon, that I wouldn’t get a single full night of sleep for over 3 months, that I would eat, sleep & breathe all things pug. Then I thought, hmmm…I really should write some of this stuff down…so welcome to the adventures of Lulu…pug princess…this is her world now…and I’m just living in it!

This was Lulu’s first visit to my office. She’s a very stylish pug – she went straight for the Barcelona Chair…that’s my girl!
